Charity Gala Featuring Local School Choirs and Singers Living with MS Raises £2,450 for Kent MS Therapy Centre

An evening of music, unity, and heartfelt generosity brought the community together at the Great Hall, Kent College, for a Charity Gala in aid of the Kent MS Therapy Centre. The event, held on Sunday 18 May, raised an incredible £2,450, all of which will go towards supporting the Centre’s services supporting people living with Multiple Sclerosis and other neurological conditions. 

The Gala featured moving and uplifting performances from two of the Centre’s own members Catherine Futcher, a professional classical soprano, and Naomi Honour Adams, a soulful singer, pianist, and saxophonist. Both women live with MS and are powerful ambassadors for the Centre’s message of hope, strength, and resilience. 

Adding to the magic of the evening were guest performances from four local schools: Kent College Junior School Choristers, Cantabile Voices from Kent College Senior School, Musical Theatre Club from St Edmund’s School, Canterbury (, and Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School (LangTones) as well as Catherine’s son Oliver Futcher who hosted the night. Their choirs and ensembles brought a vibrant mix of classical, contemporary, and choral music to the stage, delighting a full house of supporters and guests. 

Catherine Futcher, reflecting on the evening, shared: 

“What an evening! The pupils’ performances provided such variety and quality that the audience was blown away! All the feedback I received was gushing; their professionalism and talent was outstanding. 

I’m still on a high this morning and I know the memory of last night will last a very long time.” 

Heidi Coleman CEO of the Kent MS Therapy Centre added: 

“It was wonderful to bring together such a talented group of young people to share an evening of music and happiness in support of the Kent MS Therapy Centre. To be able to do this alongside performances by two of our MS Members made it extra special. We were treated to beautiful performances by Catherine Futcher and Naomi Honour Adams both of whom do not let their diagnosis of MS define them. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event and also to Kent College for allowing us to host the event in the Grand Hall.” 

The evening wasn’t just a fundraiser—it was a celebration of community, talent, and shared purpose. Every note sung and every ticket purchased helped the Kent MS Therapy Centre continue its mission to provide life-enhancing therapies, including hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, and oxygen therapy, to those living with MS and other neurological conditions.
